A critical challenge facing online marketers is how to gain visibility for their website amidst the myriad other sites out there. To date most companies have invested significant dollars in search engine marketing, banner ads, and other affiliate marketing efforts. While such efforts are undoubtedly worthwhile, nonetheless a new breed of services from Yahoo, Google and other usual suspects holds significant promise: each of the major search engine providers along with other players offer "electronic malls." Put simply, if people are looking to purchase products, they go to one of these electronic malls or shopping portals and look for products where products from different vendors are listed. Visitors can do comparison shopping, search and drill down, and even click on a button to visit the website of the company they wish to purchase. However, companies have had difficulty getting this products listed on these various electronic malls. Getting products listed is time consuming, understanding how well the various e-malls are doing is another problem. Sokel's eCatalog Syndication Services (ESS) solve the problems for companies. Companies simply provide Sokel a simple data file containing information about their products. Sokel takes care of the rest: Listing the products on the various services, and providing reports to companies on how effective their listings are. |
